Nisqually Refuge isn't the very best place to be assured of seeing a
Snowy, but there seem to be 2 or 3 hanging around at the river delta.
A couple of reports have been from birders in canoes or kayaks, and at
least one indicated the birds were probably not visible from shore at
the time he saw them. So, if you want to see one at Nisqually, your
best bet is probably to get as far out on the mud flats as you can
(without being swallowed). If you *really* want to see a Snowy, go to
Big Ditch or the west 90 bend (a few miles west of Edison in Skagit
County). If you want to see >25 Snowies in one spot, try Boundary Bay
in BC.
