Hi Tweets,

I'm in Hoquiam today getting ready for the Grays Harbor Christmas
Count tomorrow and thought I'd pass along a few of today's sightings from
the Harbor.

A Rough-legged Hawk was at Bowerman Basin - the count often has just
a single Roughie, usually in the Bowerman vicinity. At Ocean Shores, at the
Pt. Brown jetty, there was one Rock Sandpiper among approx. 30 Surfbirds and
a dozen Black Turnstones. There were nine or ten Snowy Owls on Damon Pt. Go
out about two-thirds of the way on Damon Pt. road and watch for a little
parking area on the left side. You can pull off and scan the area around the
hidden pond which is on the RIGHT side of the road.

All in all Scott Downes and I tallied about 70 species for the day
which rather surprised me, I didn't figure on finding that many on a short
winter day. If the weather Saturday is anything like today's (showers mixed
with sunbreaks) we should have a good count.

Good luck to all the other bird counter's this weekend!
