3:41 pm Dec 17: Hi, Ed Steele in Seattle at 723-4742. This morning at
American lake south of Tacoma, the LITTLE GULL previously reported was
again seen. Also in early afternoon at Nisqually Wildlife Refuge a single
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW.

3:44pm Dec 17: Hi, this is Mike Witter at 781-0088 in Seattle. This
morning at Montlake Fill, maybe for the Christmas Bird Count folks, there
was a male WILSON'S WARBLER, a NORTHER SHRIKE and a LINCOLN'S SPARROWand a
big flock of WHITE CROWNED SPARROWS. Good luck, goodbye.

6:00pm Dec 17: Hello this is Patrick Sullivan reporting from Long Beach,
in Pacific County. At Ledbetter Point State Park at the north end of the
Long Beach Penninsula and Pacific County, the species of the day and for
the location were 3 LONG-EARED OWLS which were observed in a extensive
stand of various pines at the NE portion of Ledbetter Point. A further
extensive search through the somewhat isolated stand of pines produced:
one calling SAW-WHET OWL; 10 species of passerines including high numbers
of VARIED THRUSH, YELLOW AUDUBONS AND MYRTLE WARBLERS which were nearly
equal in number; one WHITE-THROATED SPARROW; one YELLOW-SHAFTED FLICKER;
one TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE and one very late SWAINSON'S THRUSH. At the NW
corner of Ledbetter Point, one dark-phased GYRFALCON, 6 SNOWY OWLS, onee
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, one SHORT-EARED OWL and 73 SNOW BUNTINGS were observed.
3 SNOWY OWLS were observed at dusk hunting over the marshy fields to the
north of the main parking lot and observation platform. In Cowlitz
County, one YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was noted at the NE corner of Willow
Grove Road which is accessed by traveling along state route 4, west of the
longview sewage treatment plant. Finally, in Wakiakum county, a
WHITE-TAILED KITE was observed at the Juliet Butler Hampson National
Wildlife Refuge. Thank you, good luck and good birding.

1:48pm Dec 18 This is Cindy Carson in West Seattle, 9385150. We have a
TOWNSEND'S WARBLER here today and we had it also on Saturday. That's it.

5:47pm Dec 18: Hello this is Patrick Sullivan reporting from Tacoma, WA.
At the north jetty of the Columbia River in Pacific County, 16 BLACK
SCOTERS and two ROCK SANDPIPERS Were noted. At the Elwaco marina two
CANVASBACKS were observed, and at the Lewis unit of the Willapa National
Wildlife Refuge 12 TRUMPETER SWANS were observed. At Grays Bay just north
of Altona and Wakiakum county 4 PELAGIC CORMORANTS, 2 RED-THROATED LOONS
and good numbers of WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS with a few SURF SCOTERS were
observed. At the Juliet Hampson Wildlife Refuge just west of Klathlamat, 2
WHITE-TAILED KITES kites were observed. Thank you, good luck and good

7:29pm Dec 20: Hi this is Steve Mlodinow Via Rick Pitchen (?) of
Vancouver. I have heard there is an EMPEROR GOOSE at POint Roberts.
Apparently the bird has been hanging around the county park and out
towards the marina. That's about it, good luck and good birding.

7:44pm Dec 21: Wolfe and Katy 360-835-5947 Today, December 21st at
Vancouver Lake there were 5 LOONS - 4 RED-NECKED and 1 PACIFIC - and one
male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER at the flushing channel. Also in the vicinity
of Vancouver Lake Bottoms there was one GREAT EGRET and a couple of
GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE. That was about it, there were reports of 2
BLUE JAYS the Vancouver area, one near Richfield refuge and one in
Vancouver at the Hagens and that's still present as of today.
