"Harlequin Quail"? in the Olympia area? Do you mean Mt.
Quail. They are found (sometimes) in Western Washington on the
Kitsap penninsula and on rare occasion in Thurston County (Olym-
pia area) at places like Nisqually NWR.
There are at least two places in south Kitsap County
to try for Mt Quail, one is the Green Mountain area west of Brem-
erton and the other is the Port Orchard airport.
If you want specific directions let me know and I'll do the
best I can or I'll see if Scott Downes can help you, he knows
the area much better and has seen the quail there.
