My apologies. I am always getting the wrong name to the birds. It is
indeed Mt. Quail that we seek.

Jim Flynn, yes, I'd like directions to the Port Orchard birds (I assume
you are talking about Kitsap Co. airport - I grew up in Bremerton)
Perhaps, in the snow, they are coming to a feeder. When I lived there
the most snow we ever had was 13 inches. I hear that Bremerton got 16
inches in the 1st storm. I can't imagine it now!

>If you want specific directions let me know and I'll do the best I can or
>I'll see if Scott Downes can help you, he knows the area much better and
>has seen the quail there.

Of course, getting to Bremerton may be a problem. We're supposed to have
a Jeep Cherokee reserved for us at the airport, but I'll bet it is not
available.

Bremerton may be a good bet for us. There are two possible lifers in
Kitsap Co. - Mt. Quail and the murrelets at Point No Point. I suppose
there is even a remote possibility that the Rock Sandpipers have moved to
Point No Point from Alkai. I was thinking that we might head to Alkai
from the airport, but my husband thinks there won't be enough birding
light. Plus, I don't suppose you can actually drive there yet anyway.
We may just have to hope that the snow/ice melts enough that we can
navigate by next weekend.
