The Sorbus Grove in the Washington Park Arboretum is a very good spot to
observe varied thrushes. Even after the robins have eaten all the berries,
you'll still find a few varied thrushes hanging around. Another good spot is
in the brush behind the Seattle Parks facility on 29th Avenue East and E.
Ward. There's an access path to the Arboretum that runs behind this facility
and I usually spot a thrush in the brush on the right side of the path at the
point where it begins to slope down into the Arboretum. Thrushes often follow
robins around my neighborhood, so whenever I see a flock of robins in my
backyard I usually also spot a thrush or two or three. If you're keen on
seeing thrushes, make a visit to the Arboretum and hang around berry bushes
and brushy areas.
