Hi Tweeters. This is my first-ever post to Tweeters (I have been lurking
for quite a while now). This is quite a winter storm we've experienced in
the last few days. Up here in Whatcom County we've had a lot of snow and
wind, some say even more severe than in the south sound, but it sounds like
all of Washington is in need of relief. I just wanted to let you all know
that today I had a Northern Shrike in the yard. This was a first for my
yard list. Other birds in the yard today were: Varied Thrush, Junco,
White-crowned sparrow, Rufous-sided Towhee, Purple finch, House finch,
Evening Grosbeak, Sharp-shinned hawk, Song sparrow, Western Meadowlark,
American Robin, Red-winged Blackbird, Starling (ugh!), Flicker. For a brief
moment today, the sun was shining. It was a gorgeous sight: blue sky,
glistening white snow, trees dripping from all the melting ice, and a Bald
Eagle soaring overhead! I felt pretty lucky to observe all this from my
window while "snowed in".

'Hope all you tweets are enjoying the sights from your window, too.
