I was at the Montlake Fill at noon yesterday and there were three A. pipits
foraging on the ground and paths. I was watching the feeding station when
there was an eruption from the blackberry bushes: 2 pheasants, 6-8 quail,
4 Lincoln's sparrows, song, golden, towhees, and 12-18 female redwing BB.
I glimpsed a fourlegged creature running through the underbrush but it didnt
come out where I could ID it. It is interesting about the blackbirds- these
days the males are out in the rushes singing and the females ignore them
and are hundreds of yards away in the interior porking out.
