Seconding several other comments, we have found raptor silhouettes to be
ineffective in reducing window strikes (which used to be frequent at our
home on the forest edge). An alternative to the closely spaced paper or
twine strips mentioned by several which we have found to be quite effective
is the following. Attach one strip of mylar tape (available in garden
stores) per window, either pinned only at the top or pinned top and bottom
with some slack. The shimmering of the tape seems to alert approaching
birds.
