Clarice and I drove in to Tacoma and parked on Pacific Ave. today at 5:00
P.M. The female peregrine of Tacoma fame was perched in one of the louvered
openings on the south side of the First Interstate Bldg. These openings are
just below the top, above the upper set of windows. She was in the second
opening in from the southeast corner. The male (I may be being presumptous
here, but one is larger than the other) was devouring a pretty good sized
bird on the yellow ledge that runs along the south side of the Key Bank
Bldg., just below the top. We watched until 6:10 P.M. The female flew out a
little bit and came back in to another of First Interstate's upper openings.
The male finally finished his dinner, cleaned up, and flew over to First
Interstate and tucked in to the opening the female had left. By then
between watching the birds and seeing Venus and Saturn come out, and
freezing, we packed up and went for dinner ourselves. Drove back by at 7:30
P.M. and were able to see both birds in the same louvered opening, the
original one we had seen the female in.

If these guys stick around this year they will be very easy to watch. There
aren't nearly as many tall buildings in Tacoma as in Seattle, and they aren't
nearly as tall. Should be easy to spot them.
