I pick up large five gallon buckets of suet for our birds. While it
is relatively soft and pliable I cut it into strip and run it through
the meat grinder on my food processor/blender combo kithen machine-
(what ever the heck you call it). I then pack it into balls to fit in
our suet feeder wrap them in plastic and store them in the freezer until
they are ready to use. Because of the cold temperatures on the east-side
during the winter, the suet doesn't go bad. Besides, the flickers and jays
and chicks manage to eat it all within a day or two.
