Hi All,
Spent much of the last two days cutting up apples and oranges for large
flocks of robins that are in. Feeders filled with usual SISKIN,
Starlings,FINCHES and WHITE& RED BEASTED NUTHATCHES. Peanut and sunflower
pieces enjoyed by GOLDEN CROWNES, FOX & SONG sparrows.Flicker, Varied
Thrush,Juncos, Beswick and winter wrens took up any slack in the activity.
Also one solitary HUTTON"S VIREO after spider eggs in the bushes. With
upper pond heated and moving water during this freeze that proved the
biggest draw. Our family of BANDTAILS have stuck around for several days
and spend much time just warming their feet. Amazing the tolerance shown by
all the different species. Even the CROWS showed thier manners. ROBINS had
the most conflicts among themselves over the cranberrys and grapes.
Yearning for warmer weather!
