Hi Tweets,

A single American Dipper was on floating ice and debris and along the
pilings of the Fraser River at Westminster Quay, a riverside
shopping/boardwalk complex in downtown New Westminster. Also, it spent a
considerable amount of time on the rocks at the water's edge beneath the
boardwalk.

Also present were Queenie, the Queensborough Bridge Peregrine, on a nearby
apartment building, and the usual Glaucous-winged, Herring, and Thayer's Gulls.

Incidentally, the thick ice which choked the Fraser River at Quesnel
(hundred of kilometers to the N of Vancouver) before breaking up took three
days to reach New Westminster. Anyone planning a Huck 'n Tom down the Mighty
Fraser might want to know this so they know how many peanut butter & jelly
sandwiches to pack :-)
