First I'd like to thank all those who responded to my American Dipper
query. The thing I enjoy about this bird is when you can hear it singing
even over the din of rapids--what a penetrating call! And speaking of
"American" birds and singing, this morning as I was walking to work along
the Burke-Gilman trail just north of the U.W., I heard an American robin
singing its spring song..."chirloop, chirloop, chirloop..." I just don't
remember them doing that earlier. Is spring upon us?
