Hello Tweeters,
Yesterday, 9 FEB, Mike and I spent a couple of hours looking for the
hawk at McNary NWR. We were unable to relocate the bird. Our intent was
to play a tape of Red-shouldered Hawk calls to see what response there
would be if any. If this bird is relocated we will try again with the
tape.
There were 3 Glaucous Gulls on the Walla Walla River Delta - 2
adults and 1 2nd yr bird. Also 1 male Eurasian Wigeon.
Birding the flood has been interesting - the Walla Walla River at
Touchet is over 1/2 mile wide. Numerous ducks, geese, and gulls are in
all the flooded fields. If fields remain flooded it will be super
shorebirding in March!
