e water this weekend. Kind of puttered along the
shore at Magnuson Park and NOA and basked in the sunshine...ahhhhhhh. Saw the
regulars. Widgeons, buffleheads, goldeneyes (a gorgeous Barrows too),
Gadwals. There was a group of three waterfowl that we were unable to
positively identify, but our guess was that they were immature canvasbacks.
The most satisfying sight of all this weekend was a little group of golden
crowned kinglets right outside my window at home. They were interested in
something found in the depths of a large juniper shrub/tree. They
disappeared into the bush and reappeared over the course of about 5 minutes.
Then they flew off and did not return.
