Ah yes, but it's totally different. Buffalo came through in *huge*
numbers for a very short span of time. This disturbance is more like a
fire, except that it tills the soil also. If cattle were pushed around
the plains (in an open range situation) in huge numbers, never staying
anywhere very long, maybe that would simulate the same thing. A rancher
with 1000 head of cows on a piece of property I suppose could make a
micro-version of this if he had enough land, but I doubt the incentive is
there.
