An addition to the delineation of range and elevation of American Dippers --

Yesterday I found a dipper busy feeding in the river at Dosewallips State
Park. Charming as ever! I saw a bird in the very same place last December.
Not sure of the elevation, but it can't be much over 1 ft above sea level.

BTW, a check of old WOSNews bulletins revealed an article on dippers.
Unfortunately, I was searching for a name/agency for reporting a
color-banded cormorant I saw today -- ! -- and forgot to write down the
dipper reference.

Also, a belated thank you to all those (Jim Rosso in particular) who
contributed to what was referred to by one Tweeter as the "dreaded
cormorant thread." You have succeeded in piquing my curiosity and I am now
paying attention, wing-spreading or not. Perhaps I will have something to
report in future if my informal research reveals anything definitive ... .
