While out for a stroll last night around Green Lake, I saw hundreds of
cormorants landing in the trees on the small island in the NW corner of the
lake. I never knew they congregated there at night. The cormorants would
circle the island a few times before landing, and many times would be flying
directly in front of me, feet extended. They looked like floatplanes coming
in for a landing.
