Like our neighbors who all insist upon mowing everything down so they have a
monoculture environment consisting of one species of pine tree and a 2 acre
lawn. Some of these people have lived there all their lives and could care
less about removing habitat.

When we applied for our greenway path permit from the Army Corps, the ranger
told us about a woman who wanted a clear view to the lake so she could see
the birds clearly. Only she cut down all the trees, removed all the marsh
grasses and then wondered why she didn't have any wildlife to view.

In rehab we are constantly receiving animals that locals consider a
"nuisance" and treat accordingly. We find many people have very little
knowledge of how the animal actually behaves or makes its living and very
few care.

I think it's wrong to generalize about any group of people.
