A friend of mine,Ian MacGregor, was wandering around the West 90 last week
after a Great Gray Owl expedition and encountered the same (?) moose and
goose guys. He was told that they were in the final stages of buying the
property that runs south and west from that intersection along the fence
line and includes part of the dike. Ian responded how wonderful that would
be to have public walking access to the dike. They the F&W guys said that
no way would there be public access to walk the dike. Ian didn't know if
that meant just in the shor term or never. They indicated that there would
be access to only the fields from a parking lot. It sure would be a bummer
to have this designated public and not have the ability to get up on the
dike. It does sound like the public access stuff is still in the planning
stages but it be great if we could give some feedback to the people setting
this up.
