Mike, I'll reply to the list as we're all reasonably close we may take trips
there. You're going to a super location (I used to live there and work at
the aquarium).

Be sure and take in Point Lobos. Great seabird birding there (south of
Carmel). If you have time, go north to Elkhorn Slough east of Watsonville -
wonderful variety of birding there. If I remember right, there's a heron
rookery at the Slough.

I don't know if time will permit this long of a trip, but if you head
southeast through Hollister toward to the Pinnacles, you're likely to see
roadrunners and meadow larks.
