Subject: Great Gray Owl project

The Great Gray Owl was radio tagged on Wednesday and is still there,
"beepin' away," according to Bud Anderson. The bird was diagnosed as a
male, at least 2 years old. The radio will last a year but will be dropped
when the owl molts the tail feather to which it is attached (probably this
fall).

The Falcon Research Group is looking for volunteers who are interested in
helping to track the owl until it leaves.

There will be an organizational meeting at the Padilla Bay Interpretive
Center on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Please attend only if you are strongly
interested in participating.

If you have questions, call Bud at 360-757-1911.
