On at least three occasions I've had juncos nest in fuschia baskets hanging
from different houses I've occupied. The first time I discovered this
phenomenon I was watering a plant which was above my line of sight. A
female junco shot out of there like a rocket causing me to become as wet as
she was! After that incident I always check to see whether or not I have an
occupant in the basket. The young successfully fledged from that nest, so
apparently my dousing did the nest little or no harm.
