Thanks to Chuck P. for his observations concerning money and culture. An
interesting and enlightening perspective.

I often find myself wondering about how far gone our forests will need to be
before I get more directly involved in stopping the destruction. I now focus
on educating young students about wildlife and habitat in a very neutral
manner, hoping that exposure alone will give them the appreciation I gained
at an early age.

Chuck's comment regarding obfuscation hit home as well. I often wonder
about the clamor for more timber sales. I look at the lumber yard and there
appears to be no shortage. Prices don't appear to have outpaced inflation
over the last twenty years (just a perception, I have no figures to
confirm). Houses and apartments are still being built rapidly in my area.
Paper supplies seem stable (I buy mostly recycled anyway).Obfuscation indeed.
