Mike,

The most reliable spot for wood ducks in the Seattle area is along
the Sammamish Slough, roughly 3/4 mile from its debouchment into Lake
Washington. It may take a kayak or a canoe to reach this area but you
could probably explore it by land. The wood ducks can be seen
on the north or northwest side of the slough, around a very large willow
with branches that trail into the stream. Many ducks collect in this area and
are apparently fed by the man who owns the property with the willow.
Hope this helps.
