I personally found it somewhat annoying. I doubt that any significant
"scientific" data will result and suspect there may be an element of the
tagger wanting to add the Great Gray to his list of tagged/in-hand birds.
It may or may not affect the owls behavior to the detriment of owl or
late-arriving observers. But I feel the presumption of proof in this
case rests with the tagger.
