Hi, Tweets. I had heard that all the high water in W. Washington this
winter caused the swans to be more widely dispersed than usual. I think
I was witnessing evidence for this statement yesterday, when I saw
several (maybe two dozen?) swans in a field also containing standing
water near state Highway 9, just south of Snohomish. The birds--mostly
adults and no, I still can't tell whether they are Trumpeter or
Tundra--were in the field that I call west of Hwy 9 (to the left of the
road when I was heading from Seattle to Snohomish). The field is near
Marsh Road where it crosses Hwy 9. If any tweets see them and know for
sure which species they are, please let me know.

Another note: did someone recently say they'd never seen an adult male
Northern Harrier at Marymoor Park? (I'm probably remembering all wrong)
Anyway, Steven and I recently saw one flying near the eagle nest
there. Happy birding! --Anna Coles, Seattle, WA
