Went all the way up past Frenchman's Bar today to the southern end of
Ridgefield NWR. Many swans, primarily Tundras. Perhaps 1000-1200 out
there. Lots of Canada geese and ducks as well. Had a merlin being blown
fast by the strong wind, and herons were hunkering down on their nests.
Also head a single male Redhead--haven't seen any of these of late in the
area. No eagles at the nest I had the one at last week though there was
an adult bird scaring up the geese. There was also an adult eagle in the
cottonwoods on Hayden Island across from the north terminus of Columbia
Way this afternoon.
