For those interested in a longer twitch . . . The Prairie Warbler is
apparently still in town at Newport as well (though harder to find) and
Oldsquaws are being seen in the harbor (and two Gyrs in the last 10 days
along the Jetty). RK

Subject: RBA Dusky-capped Flyc confirmed



The Dusky-capped Flycatcher in Newport was seen and heard by
many observers on Thursday morning January 4. It has been
tape-recorded, photographed and videotaped. It is still in the
neighborhood of 6th St and adjacent Nye and Lee streets a few
blocks west of 101.

Major compliments to Toledo birder Pat Dickey, who first found
the bird and narrowed it down to a small number of species
without even having her binoculars!

This is a first record for Oregon.
