The owl was not there Thursday afternoon. A neighbor said she thought it
had moved, possibly into the giant sequoias a half a block away. There
are three of these in one lot, huge, and very dense. The owl may be in
there somewhere.

There was a brown-plumaged merlin hunting the neighborhood, and a
sharpie on Thursday. No sign of crows or jays mobbing anything. It
would be interesting to gather any pellets the owl left under the
doug-fir it was using, to see what it is eating. Would need the owner's
permission to look.
