A co-worker has spotted a Short-eared Owl in between buildings 2 & 3 on the
Sand Point NOAA campus every morning this week, hunting in the mowed grass
area (successful hunting, even). I watched one cruising the grassy areas
between the ends of Buildings 3&4 and the lake yesterday afternoon. My
housemate saw one touch down a few times, down around the Sound Garden.
