I have had about the same numbers show up suddenly last week or maybe 10 days
ago. They have run off the house finches, and will let me walk to within
about 3 feet before flying off. They are so thick that it looks like the
ground is moving. Problem is that feeding on the ground on spilled seed they
are easy prey for the neighborhood cats.
