This is the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society Rare Bird Hotline for
January 6, 1996. For any questions regarding LCBAS call Mike Lilga at 946-8966.

On Friday, December 29, Dennis Rockwell reported that 5 Pine Siskin are
regular at a thistle feeder in his yard at Two Rivers (County) Park. The
following day he was unable to find the Yellow-billed Loon at Blue Lake but
a Red-necked Grebe was present. South out of Wilbur on Highway 21, he found
a couple of Snow Buntings in with a flock of Horned Larks.

On Sunday, December 31, Ruth Fischer observed a Great Horned Owl in her yard
along the Yakima River. It has not been seen since however. The species is
regular on Bateman Island.

Also on December 31, Bill LaFramboise saw an immature (Northern) Goshawk
along Canyon Street. The bird flew off towards Hills West and has not been
seen since.

On January 3 and 4, I've (Bob Woodley) had a single Evening Grosbeak at my
feeder and on January 4 & 5, I've had 1 or 2 Pine Siskin.

To report your own sightings, please give your name, phone number and
sightings after the tone. Thank you.
