51549 Total birds and 138 Species + 4 in Count Week

This is a tie with 1993 for record high species count.
The count statistics include 20 years from 1975 (with 1990 cancelled
for impossible weather and travel). The 20-year mean species count is 123
species, low was 98 in 1978.

[Betty acknowledges great help from Bob Boekelheide with
analyses of count statistics, and from 50 field observers covering
17 sub-areas and 5 feeder observers.]
