My sunflower and thistle feeders were converged upon by a flock of > 30
pine siskins. They stayed most of the day gorging themselves on seed.
I had a few siskins at the beginning of Fall but haven't seen them
again until today (Friday). Did anyone else witness a surge of pine
siskins?

I, too, have had a big influx of the siskins .... I estimated about 100
birds converging on the feeders and covering the ground. It looked like
the ground under the feeders was alive with birds.
