My siskin numbers have increased dramatically over the past week as
well. From two or three birds through most ofDecember, the numbers
increased to about 30 birds the last couple of days. My wife counted 7
the day of the Portland CBC (12/30), so much of the increase is recent.
They have been seen in bigger flocks than this in areas fringing on the
Coast Range and Cascades before this, and there were big numbers around
Mt. Hood in late October (500 or so in two brief stops). RK
