I have been meaning to reply to your notice about GIS and seabirds.

I am using the GIS system ARC-INFO to compare observed and satellite
tracked positions of Westland petrels with positions of fishing
vessels to determine the correlation between them. This is part of my
wider work for my PhD on the diet and foraging eceology of this
species.

I would be very interested to hear of other GIS/seabird projects.
