THE WASHINGTON ORNITHOLOGICAL SOCIETY

"... to increase our knowledge of the birds of
Washington and to enhance communication
among all persons interested in those birds."

Founded in 1988

The Washington Ornithological Society (WOS) was founded to provide a forum
for birders from throughout the state to gather information on bird
identification, biology, population, status, and birding sites.

Over 500 amateur and professional ornithologists currently belong to WOS.
Membership is open to all persons interested in birds and birding. Annual
dues are listed on the attached membership application form. Dues run from
January to January of each year.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

* Subscription to WOSNews, the bi-monthly newsletter of the society.

* Annual edition of Washington Birds, the journal of the society.

* WOS membership meetings, held the first Monday of each month (except
during summer months) at the Center for Urban Horticulture, 3501 NE 41st
St, Seattle.

* Annual Meetings, held alternately on the east and west side of the
Cascades. Annual meetings include speakers, workshops, and field trips.

* Field Trips are held each month to different areas in the state.

* Members' Discount Program provides members with a variety of discounts
with retailers throughout the state.
