Yesterday we went to Marymoor Park and saw the balk eagles nest, which
was unoccupied. After that we saw a sharpie sitting on a branch of a
small deciduous tree. The time was around 4:15. The sharpie flew right
above our heads and there was a crop on it. We scanned with our
binoculars and there was a bald eagle soaring far away. We did not see
any short eared owls this day. We heard a red-winged blackbird.

Today we watched an adult sharpie patrol the area around the school early
this morning. It flew from treetop to treetop in the bright sun. During
observation we saw a male downy woodpecker on the bird feeder and a
bewicks wren in the bushes.
