I was going to title this message "Cardinals are ***ing incredible birds !!!"
but since there is still about 2 inches of solid ice on the ground and at
least another inch of freezing rain expected - OK who told me it would be
warm down here ????

Anyway what little birding I have done so far has been really good - only
the obvious stuff so far. However Cardinals are amazing - it's hard to imagine
just how crimson these birds are. I have 4-5 coming into a feeder I have out
on the deck, plus a stack of house finches - at least there are no house
sparrows out here.

Stacks of sparrows - mainly white-throated with a few field and it took me a while to work out I was looking at song sparrow - they're pretty different.
Loads of yellow-rumped warblers everywhere, 1-2 pine warblers, a few
eastern bluebirds (again another stunning bird) - you'd never guess I was
a foreigner ;-). Stacks of woodpeckers - northern flicker, red-bellied
woodpecker (or is it sapsucker) and yellow-bellied sapsucker, eh thatt's
all I have mamanged to ID so far. Piles of cedar waxwing, juncos and
robins. Tufted titmice are pretty cool as well.

Well have fun y'all,\

Stuart
