I just received a call that took me to North Vancouver to see a Great Grey
on Maplewood Flats. He/she was easy to find and seems to be quite happy in
the territory. Great sighting for me, a "lifer".

The Vancouver area seems to have had a rash of Great Grey sightings this
year; Deer Park, Aldergrove and now Maplewood Flats.

For the locals, the bird is located 75 meters along the path to the south of
the Wild Bird Trust office in the car park of the enviromental offices off
of Dollarton Highway. For anyone planning a trip to see it, call the Rare
