Snow Buntings-try the Waterville Plateau both north and south of Withrow (Hwy
172), also Hwy 2 east of Waterville. Also Hwy 172 east of Mansfield.
Lapland Longspurs - almost always associated with large flocks of larks, not
Snow Buntings. Try the above-named spots on the Waterville Plateau.
Fog...yes there has been plenty this winter, though this weekend looks a little
bit better.
Rumor has it there are 3-4 Gyrfalcons in the open country around George. I
don't have any specifics, but word is going around there is a white Gyr in that
area also. It appears falconers can be as reticent about divulging exact
locations as certain owl aficionados. Incredible!
