Thanks to alerts on Tweeters we enjoyed good views of the King Eider (end of
Hastie Rd.) at 1:30-2:00p.m., Jan. 15, some Oldsquaws at the same spot, and a
Short-eared Owl illuminated by low sunlight as it hovered over the marshes at
the south end of Crockett's Lake about 4:30pm.
