hello all;

i was out birding over the weekend and saw the large group of
snow geese on fir island--the flock was definitiely 2,000+ in
number. additionally, i discovered several large flocks of
trumpeter swans while searching for the snow geese. there were
two large flocks, one numbering between 200-250, another was
100-120 birds. there were also many smaller groups of trumpeter
swans, numbering from 2-50 per group. overall, i would estimate
the total number of swans that i saw to be somewhere between
400-500 in total.

i also saw several small groups of trumpeter swans in the fields
on whidbey island.
