I, too, have had this problem. Several of my feeders are on lawn and
grassy slopes, and even raking or shoveling under them leaves old
poopy deposits. I do clean the feeders, but is there anything else
you can do to help under the feeders? I haven't had any this year so
far but the last 2 winters had this problem. Do you think that extra
cold weather is good or bad for the salmonella bug?
