Fellow tweets, here is an announcement for a political activist job for a
group called the Norther Rockies Campaign. I _think_ it's an
environmental conservation group, but I'm not really sure. Also, it's
sort of in or near our Pacific Northwest region, so I thought someone

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Northern Rockies Campaign
Community Organizers


The Northern Rockies Campaign is a coalition of conservation and sporting
organizations working in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming to protect the public
lands, the quality of its water and the abundance of its fish and wildlife so
that our way of life is conserved, our communities are healthy, and people
today and tomorrow retain their right to use and enjoy the public lands of the
Northern Rockies.

The Campaign is hiring Community Organizers: one full time position located in
Casper, WY; one full time position located Missoula, MT; and a half time
position in Coeur d'Alene and in Boise ID. Each Organizer will work for one of
the Campaign member groups in conjunction with the staff of the Northern
Rockies Campaign. Organizers will work closely with the staffs and volunteers
of the various participating organizations to ensure coordination and
collaboration of Campaign activities.

Organizers will be responsible for: finding and developing leaders to
implement the Campaign Plan at the local level; and mobilizing, inspiring, and
educating grassroots constituencies.

Job Responsibilities will include working with member groups to: activate the
membership of member groups and to expand our base; build a network of
activists around the region who will work in a coordinated fashion on campaign
goals. Organizers may work to develop constituencies out-state as necessary.
The job will require frequent travel and long work hours.

Qualifications: 1) a proven track record of community organizing including a
demonstrated ability to identify people who have a capacity for growth, the
ability to create structures and incentives that supports others; 2) ability
to work behind the scenes to support others; 3) demonstrated ability to use
situations of conflict or confrontation to clarify issues and build
commitment; 4) demonstrated ability to use ambiguous victories, as well as
defeats, to educate, train, and encourage people; 5) an ability to work
independently and as a team member; and 6) strong communications skills.


Benefits: Salary range $20,000 - 25,000 (for the full-time position), health
insurance, and two to three weeks of vacation.
