While birding at Stewart Pond yesterday, a mid-sized, brown-colored hawk
flew through my viewing range and I wasn't able to identify it due to poor
light. The one thing that showed clearly, though, was a broad white band at
the base of the tail (seen from above). Can anyone suggest a species?
