First of all, thanks Ray for raising our awareness on this issue!
Secondly, if you're like me, I don't care much for the toxic/caustic
nature of bleach, ammonias, etc., so if you want to kill salmonella
in a way that is friendly to the environment & wildlife and won't be
harmful to you either, then let me know and I'll pass on what I've
