Disinfecting feeders with household bleach is possible. The solution need
not be strong: 1 1/2 teaspoons in 5 gallons of water will give you 25 ppm
chlorine. To be effective, the feeder needs be cleaned well first.
Lemon juice and ammonia are not disinfectants, but will help clean.
I myself use boiling water to clean my platform feeder (and hopefully
reduce the bacterial counts somewhat), before using a relatively small
amount of dilute bleach solution.
For what its worth.
